EMDR Therapy

At Glow Mental Health, we offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for clients in-person in Kitchener-Waterloo, and virtually across Ontario. EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps process distressing experiences and reduce symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, and PTSD.

EMDR can be helpful for individuals processing a wide range of experiences, including chronic pain, grief and loss, and perinatal mental health concerns. This includes support for pregnancy- and birth-related trauma, medical trauma, and distress related to fertility, pregnancy, or the postpartum period. EMDR may also be supportive for those who have experienced sudden or overwhelming events, including first responders, emergency personnel, doctors, nurses, and others exposed to high-stress or traumatic situations.

At Glow Mental Health, we offer intensives (longer sessions) or more structured EMDR formats to allow for deeper processing and continuity of care. EMDR may be offered through intensives (90-minute or 120-minute sessions), a structured series of EMDR intensives delivered over a shorter period of time, or through traditional weekly EMDR therapy, consisting of a planned series of 50-minute sessions. The structure of EMDR work is collaboratively determined based on your needs, capacity, and therapeutic goals.
